Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley

We were founded on the principle of serving the needs of our community. Within our doors, this means treating all children as if they were our own, and turning no child or family away based on their ability to pay. In the community, this means improving access to healthcare services for children and families, enhancing public health, advancing medical or health knowledge, and reducing the burden of government or other community efforts.

Akron Children’s is an independent, nonprofit pediatric health care system that has been caring for children since 1890. With two hospital campuses, seven regional health centers and more than 50 primary and specialty care locations throughout Ohio, it is the only health care system in northeast Ohio fully dedicated to pediatric care. Volunteers help patients and families in many ways, including reading, entertaining, baking cookies bedside, providing creative distractions for patients, and more.
